LCVH is blessed to have many talented singers and instrumentalists who share their talent and skill with worshippers on Sunday mornings and at other times during the year. Below are a few of the opportunties available for those interested in participating at LCVH through Music.
The main musical group of our church is the Adult Choir, who sing at the 10:30 AM service from September through May. This group is a volunteer group of members and friends of the congregation who dedicate themselves to the task of leading congregational singing of hymns and service music. We are always seeking new members. I encourage any who are interested in singing in the choir to contact me first to schedule an informal interview, which allows me a chance to get to know you and to find out about your vocal range and quality, etc. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from September through May at 7:30 PM. Those who are interested in playing an instrument in church are also asked to contact me for a similar informal meeting to get acquainted and discuss musical experience and so forth.
The children and youth of the church also regularly present musical offerings for the worship services. Our Director of Children's Ministries, Ruth Johnson, coordinates these groups.
LCVH occasionally hosts musical programs as an outreach and gift to the community.
Our Christmas Eve extended prelude and worship service as well as our Easter Sunday services always feature an enlarged choir with instrumental ensembles, which add to the beauty and the richness of our worship.
